| NOTES FOR THE PERFORMER |
|
Dutch Roll is the title of this easy piece in Rock & Roll style.
The title also refers to one of the lateral dynamic eigenmodes of
airplanes, whose motion looks similar to a Dutch ice-skater.
Harmonically, this piece is a slightly modified blues sequence, with bass
and rhythm guitar playing patterns in parallel 10ths and rhythmically
locking in with the rocking drum set. The melodic theme
is full of blue notes, supported by rhythmic sax and brass accents.
After unison ensemble transitions, there is room for ad lib choruses (with
optional repeats).
