NOTES FOR THE PERFORMER
Lively dance piece (based on Tarantella dance in 9/8 meter) at fast tempo (molto vivace) for piano and string quartet. 5-Part form A1-B1-A2-B2-A3, with introduction and coda. The theme is developed in Sections A1 and A2 in counterpoint style, with stretto in A3. The B-sections are in 3/4 meter and are based on Mixo-Lydian and Phrygian mode, presenting reminiscences of the main theme.
